It is a well known fact that you don’t need a sledge hammer to crack a nut.
With this in mind when Panels Plus decided to purchase a glass washing machine
for their door panels they approached Bassra Machine Tools, Birmingham, to
see if they could produce a smaller version of their glass washing machine.

Nick Lake of Panels Plus said "We approached Bassra as we already have two of
their hot melt machines which have proven to be extremely reliable and
efficient and we know that their after sales service is excellent.

"Bassra accepted the challenge and designed and built a modified version of
their popular washing machine. They produced a one metre open top machine with
two brushes, and subsequent stringent tests proved it to be more than adequate
for the job in hand.

"We never need to wash glass panels larger than 700mm x 500mm and we wanted
to have the washing machine in the glass production area, as this speeds up the
whole process, the new machine fits nicely into the limited space, it is less
expensive to run because of its size and as a result it means we are able to
maintain our promise to customers to keep their costs down."

In order to avoid any disruption to Panels Plus production, Bassra installed
the machine in just three hours on a Saturday morning. The entire glass
production is now running more efficiently, cleanly and even more cost effectively.
